This work looks at issues of supply and demand around the resource industry, international relations and the rate of consumption of resources. The work uses 5 tonnes of iron ore from the Tom Price mining site, donated by Rio Tinto. The work was inspired by the long trains I saw travelling iron ore out of this area towards the coast, the recent falling iron ore prices and the debate around the rate of iron ore being mined during my time in Tom price. The work was installed as a responsive work to the town and its main industry. The work was created during a residency where I was introducing students to site specific and conceptual based artwork.
