A kinetic artwork that moves 24 Stabile spirit levels from 6 different points, to create shifting line compositions of uniformity and variability based on structures found in the built urban environment.

It is essentially a moving line drawing that creates different compositions referencing arrows, scaffolding structures, bridges, squares, rectangles, triangles, buildings and other forms related to the urban environment. The spirit levels reference the labor/builders that create the different infrastructure in cities and the constant shifting change and cycle of new and old, creating and destroying, chaos and order of urban environments. The work is about the constant influx of movement and change that we consciously and unconsciously are apart of. The work incorporates new technology in my practice through collaboration with mechanical and computer engineers. I believe innovation and cross collaboration between the sciences, engineering and art sector could be the next economic wave for WA if we invest in it along with our agriculture sector.
